Gates Arrest Due to Race? Try Class.

The arrest of Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. by Cambridge Police Sgt. James Crowley has so much less to do with race than it does class. By class I refer to the wide gap that exists in this country between all people, whether black, hispanic, asian, white, or any other group and that blue line of law enforcement. The police state we live in under the auspices of the rule of law extends only to the courtroom or between lawyers, but when it comes to the ego driven power hungry police men and women on the beat, all bets are off. We do love the notion of freedom for all, but only if you choose the utmost revernce for all those with a gun and a badge. Cross that sacred barrier of lawful insult, intentional or otherwise, and all colors can plan on the long, sleepless night on cold hard bench with toilet paper pillow. In the lyric words of Ice Cube, "Fuck da police..."
